Snake? Snake?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
*ahem* Well, you get the idea with that.
So I finally picked up my copy of the holiest of holies at 9am this morning, in a surprisingly empty Liverpool city centre. I was up so damn early, that I got a McDonald’s breakfast. I got home at about 9.45, and got off the game at about 6.30. Oh. My. God. This really is the ultimate MGS. Act 1 in the Middle East is so damn exhilirating, and it’s fun to sneak round the back of a bunch of soldiers who are concentrating on the war in front of them. OctoCamo’s great, the ways you equip weapons is great, hell, even the install screen is great.
The reason I stopped my introductory mega-session, however, was far less exciting. It takes a good few hours to finally get to the first boss (somewhere along Act 2), and Jesus Christ, she’s bloody hard. I’ve tried a dozen times now. Rations are surprisingly spare across the game (I’ve found and used a grand total of 2), and this bitch can take your entire health bar with an unavoidable one-two punch. It’s just pot luck. I might actually have to lower my difficulty level and start the game all over again. She’s THAT hard.
I haven’t played the online mode yet (because the single player exists), but I’ll give you my thoughts on that some time soon.
